Acronis is celebrating the fifth anniversary of the Acronis Cyber Foundation Program, which consists of a number of philanthropic initiatives designed to work with partners on community development projects and support the volunteer work of team members around the world. With five years of great success and increased access to education, the program primarily focuses on providing educational opportunities for all and has evolved to provide assistance with environmental projects and humanitarian aid to victims of natural disasters.
Launched in 2018, the program has a strong focus on education, financing the construction of schools, and providing IT skills to communities around the world. Under the Acronis Cyber Foundation program, Acronis, together with partners, has built 18 schools and five more are under construction in 22 different countries. This initiative has already helped more than 5,500 students access quality education. For further support, 12 schools have been equipped with computer classrooms to allow students to access technology and learn in a digital environment.
In addition to building schools, the program is involved in educational projects in which more than 14,000 people participate in Acronis IT skills training programs. The program also provides humanitarian assistance to more than 5,500 people in communities suffering from a lack of resources. The program also deals directly with participating volunteers, who are involved in projects in remote parts of the world that provide a unique introduction to other cultures. For example, 92% of Acronis Cyber Foundation volunteers participate in humanitarian initiatives annually.
Patrick Bolvermeuler, CEO, Acronis: “I am proud of what we have all achieved with the Acronis Cyber Foundation. The Schools Initiative and IT Skills Training Program provided much-needed support to those in need and opened up a whole world of new educational and career opportunities. Acronis Cyber would never have been possible without the help of our partners. I would like to thank them for their continuous support and have no doubt that our joint efforts will contribute to a more positive and more prosperous future.”
Education has a powerful and positive impact on people’s lives and paves the way for future careers in technology, an industry that is booming all over the world. The Acronis Cyber Foundation’s IT education program in Singapore, in partnership with the Yellow Ribbon Fund, has helped more than 120 students complete certification training and gain valuable skills to get a job. More than 70% of those who followed the IT skills training got a job within one month of completing the training. The IT Skills for Migrants Program in Switzerland has entered into a partnership project with Integres, an organization focused on the integration of immigrants in Switzerland. Over the course of three years, this project provided 70 immigrants from Schaffhausen with all the necessary skills for work.
Sebastien Noelting, Managing Director at RNT Rausch: “The Acronis Cyber Foundation holds the same values that inspired me to build a school in a village in the Dominican Republic. We are convinced that problems such as poverty and hunger can only be solved in a sustainable way through education. It can Solve it. That’s why education should be accessible to everyone, everywhere in the world. I’m glad we can work with Acronis to achieve this goal.”
The success of the Acronis Cyber Foundation is due to the help of Acronis service providers, including GoDaddy, CloudFest, RNT Rausch, Zebra Systems, Climb Channel Solutions, BusyMouse, Ubistor, and many more. The Acronis Cyber Foundation’s official charitable partner, Groundbreaker, ensures regulatory compliance and handles all aspects of construction procedures.
Leonie Rosberg, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Groundbreaker, said, “Acronis has been an important partner to us since the beginning and we are grateful for their commitment to providing access to quality education around the world. They have shown the importance and power of corporate responsibility and we hope they can convince more companies in the technology sector by doing the same thing.”
The Acronis Cyber Foundation program is focused on partnering with other organizations to make a difference together. Acronis invites all companies, big or small, to work on projects together. For partners who want to create their own community development plans, the program can also assist with other initiatives.
