McGuinness and Harrison in 2023 with Honda Racing UK to North West 200 and Isle of Man TT

John McGuinness and Nathan Harrison will compete for Honda Racing UK in the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT next year. McGuinness, 50, and Harrison, 25, race a Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP in the Superstock and Superbike classes.

Honda Racing UK has announced its 2023 international road racing drivers list. The team is looking forward to returning to the North West 200 and the Isle of Man TT. John McGuinness, who will once again ride for the factory with whom he won 16 of his 23 TT victories, will again race in Honda Racing colors on a CBR1000RR Fireblade SP. The Isle of Man’s Nathan Harrison, a young talent making significant progress, will appear with him at the start of 2023.

As the most successful manufacturer ever to compete in the TT, Honda is pleased to continue its relationship with John McGuinness, the “Morecambe Missile”. In 2022 Honda celebrated the Fireblade’s 30th anniversary as McGuinness scored his 100th TT start. The two are a proven winning combination and will make history together for another year.

Sitting alongside his childhood star on the team, Harrison, 25, after making his Senior TT debut in 2022, averaged a lap speed of 128.087mph and finished 10th in his team’s Fireblade. Although Harrison competed in a TT race for the first time last year, he is no stranger to racing in the Isle of Man with wins and podiums at the Manx Grand Prix. With the full support of Team Honda and the guidance and mentorship of a highly experienced teammate, 2023 will be an exciting year for ways Nathan, who will be riding alongside his champ in both the NW200 and TT.

Honda Racing UK reaffirms its commitment to the international road racing program and will compete at this year’s North West 200 and Isle of Man TT in the Superstock and Superbike classes.

John McGuinness: “Last year was special to ride Fireblade again in the TT, so it was good to continue for another year. I couldn’t feel at home with Team Honda, so I have to be in Haver [Beltram] And Neil [Fletcher, directeur Honda Motorcycles UK] Thank you very much. The celebration of the 100 TT starts with the team and riding this unique color and all the history we have was something else really. We also managed to get into the top five with the superbike last year, which was great, but I’m hungry for more. Now I just want to go and get back racing! ”

Nathan Harrison: “Racing alongside John and riding for the Honda Racing UK team has always been my dream. I come from a ‘Manx’ family who has always been involved in motorcycling and TT has always been in my blood. As a kid watching John and Honda’s TT Championship, I wanted to be ‘John McGuinness’ Next and totally focused on that. I can’t thank Havier & Honda Racing UK enough for this opportunity. It’s my second ever TT so it’s a great experience to ride a great bike, with the best teammate I could wish for.

Hopefully with the long term plan where John can teach me things I may not know, I can learn from the team with the experience they have on Fireblade. And then my own progression, we can take baby steps from last year to hopefully take me to the top in years to come. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my mom and dad for all their support and sacrifices over the years, and my sponsors and supporters for their support and help in getting me to this position where I have had this amazing opportunity.”
