Gelcellar Cemetery Gelcellar Working Group (WBG) has been maintaining Cemetery Gelcellar since 2016, in consultation with the municipality of Berkeland. WBG aims to make the cemetery more than just a place to come to visit a grave. A place you desire and be able to be in peace and quiet as in a garden, under huge beautiful trees. Essentially a “bridge between death and life”. A place where you can share memories with others.
In this context, this working group will organize this meeting again on the evening of Friday 10 June 2022 at 7.30 pm at Gelcilar Cemetery:
“Stand still, please…..” Unfortunately, the World Bank Group’s activity cannot continue for two years due to Corona. Through poems, music and singing, the working group organizes an atmospheric meeting for everyone who wants it.
and not religious
“IFEX Silent Stone Bay….” is a non-religious gathering for anyone who wants to memorialize deceased loved ones, family or friends in a personal way. Even if they weren’t in Gelslar Cemetery or were scattered elsewhere. Contributors will be: WBG, Jaap and Jopie Nijstad, poem readers, “Tempelteam” directed by Mirjam Leuverink-Kossink and pop choir “SoSjaal” led by Rosanne Post-Sprick. Brief attention will also be paid to the victim of the war, Leander Roman.
The staff will provide seating and would like to welcome you on the evening of Friday 10th June at 7.30pm with a cup of coffee/tea and a program brochure.

Miller Benny Minsink is far from thinking about stopping
NEEDE – Mills across the country opened their doors this past weekend during National Mill Weekend. This is also the case in Neede, where Bennie Mensink and colleagues have highlighted the plant in Diepenheimseweg. This weekend, they drew attention to hiring new mills, as this is minimal at the moment. Minsink: “It’s a beautiful craft that should not be lost.” About twenty visitors gathered in and around the mill on Saturday morning. Pancakes are baked, you can weave wicker baskets and take a factory tour. “In this department we make bread mixtures, pancakes and cakes. Our self-built machinery is powered by grinder blades. We are doing well here,” says Mincink satisfied.
Young and old can enjoy the windmill, which was recently added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. “Hopefully young people will sign up for Miller’s training, because it’s so much fun to let that go to waste,” Mincink says. In the meantime, Minsink hopes to remain active as a grinder for years to come. “I’m not thinking about stopping for long, I hope to continue until I’m old.”
