Team Racing Engineer and Performance Engineer

Marco Verstappen picked from Formula 3 to Formula 1 in August 2014 and revealed within days that the 16-year-old would drive a Toro Rosso in 2015. “Helmut is like a father to me, yeah,” Verstappen says. “He says what he thinks and he’s always upfront and I like that. The relationship with Marco is very good and so is Christian. We’ve been through a lot over the years. We get along well.
“My wife says I spend more time with Max than with her.”
Another relatively new addition to the Max team is physical therapist and performance coach Bradley Skanes. The Englishman, who also serves as a consultant for British Gymnastics, took over from former Max coach Jake Elicker in early 2020 and has since worked closely with the Red Bull driver to keep him at his best all season.
